Potato and shredded ham bake

Delicious crispy potato served with ham, asparagus and a creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 kg medium sized potatoes
  • 125 g asparagus
  • 400 g ham
  • 2 tbsp gluten free flour
  • knob of butter
  • 1 pint milk
  • sprinkling of chives
  • 200 g grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut potatoes into slices and chop asparagus

  2. Bring water to the boil and place potatoes and asparagus in for 15 minutes until fairly soft.

  3. Butter an oven bake tray and place half the potatoes and asparagus on the bottom and then add a layer of ham. Add the other half of the potatoes and asparagus and then the rest of the ham.

  4. Heat oven to 180 °C

  5. In a saucepan, add flour, butter and milk with a sprinkling of salt and pepper and stir until it is a thick and creamy sauce.

  6. Add the sauce over the top of the ham bake and sprinkle the cheese and chives.

  7. Place ham bake in oven for around 40 minutes until golden and crispy.
