September has been a strange month as the weather has been so incredibly warm! I am rather happy that the weather is changing so that I can finally wear my funky autumn gear and feel the crunchy leaves beneath my feet. Anyway, here are my September favourites!
This year I travelled to Greece for a week. I visited Lefkada, and pretty much the whole of the Ionian! Being a Coeliac abroad isn’t always easy, so in this post I have featured some of the food I had that will be fine for someone with coeliac disease and of course the places that I visited along the way. Opa!
Summer is almost here and that means eating outdoors, enjoying the sunshine, swatting lots of flies and wasps and yes picnics! Here is my gluten free picnic for two! I have had my picnic roll up blanket for years and it has served me well! It has a velcro front and a handle to make it easy to carry! Ok, these pictures have not been snapped outside unfortunately, but you get the gist!
I couldn’t have a gluten free greek blog without sharing my simple and tasty pastitsio recipe. Pastitsio is an Italian word, but the Greeks and Mediterranean’s all have their own variations. This is a dish that my mum has made time and time again for family and friends who may not want to stuff their faces with souvlaki but still want a ‘little’ meat.
Spring is here at last, dreary winter’s past! (I sing from the top of my lungs). It’s almost Easter! We know what that means…. Easter eggs! (as well as lots of other easter treats!) So here is a helpful hand to show you some gluten-free easter eggs that you can purchase straight from the shelves or online!
