I was lucky enough to be invited to the John Lewis Christmas stir up Sunday event last week at the Waitrose Cookery school in Finchley Road, London. Myself and fellow gluten free, vegan and lifestyle bloggers spent the evening munching, sipping cocktails, making puddings and having a jolly good time!
I am so excited to be writing this post about the Brit Mums Live! This was the first big blogging event that I have attended in my blogging life so far and it was incredibly exciting. Brit Mums is Britain’s biggest collective of social media influencers and lifestyle bloggers.
Last weekend, my mother and I were immersed in the world of Arabian nights when we went to see Aladdin the musical as a birthday treat for me. I booked through Travelzoo for a Friday night stay at London Tower Hotel and an evening show of Aladdin. Breakfast was included in the price for £179 each for the hotel and the theatre show. I have seen quite a lot of musicals over the years, so was intrigued to see how I would compare this show to the others that I have seen.
It was my birthday at the weekend and I turned the big 29! Apart from a few grey hairs sprouting here and there, and my neck and chin looking a bit dodgy when I take selfies at certain angles, I have been trying my best to embrace birthdays! I was recently sent some products from a PR company working with Barley Cup, which is an instant cereal drink made from natural ingredients. Their products are gluten free, vegan and caffeine free! I was interested to try these as an alternative to my usual cups of tea! I conducted a little experiment with some ladies from my dance class as well as family members to see whether they could taste any difference to coffee.
Eat your greens! They are good for you! I always try and use greens in my cooking as much as I can. Asparagus is packed with vitamins and minerals as well as iron, calcium, protein and fibre. Courgettes are low calorie and contain no saturated fats or cholesterol and have many benefits including improving digestion.
I recently got in touch with a company called FoodAdvisr who have created an app where you can scan products when you are out and about and according to your selected intolerances, will give you a run down of the ingredients so you can see before purchasing. This week I tried out the app. Here are my thoughts!
